Macbeth play CLU. lit. event 1

For my literary event number one I went to go see the Macbeth play at Cal Lutheran University. When the play started the battle scene broke out and Macbeth and Banquo killed and killed. When the battle scene was over three witches appeared on stage as if they were coming out of the ground from nowhere, but they just got out on black lace bags. After that the play went along with the Macbeth story but the director Michael decided to keep having the ghost reappearing throughout the play.

During the climax I thought CLU was going to do King Duncan’s killing scene but they didn’t. Macbeth just got the daggers and went to Duncan’s house and then came out bloody. Over all the play was a success, I thought I was good and very interesting. The scene of the play was perfect also; when I heard it was going to be outside I was not expecting that. The outside made the play really come to life because it wasn’t like in a theatre where the actor echo, you only heard them once and some line you didn’t hear it kept you more watching the play. Macbeth was a good actor, and the last fighting scene you can tell he was giving the crowd what he had.

If it wasn’t for Michael coming to class I don’t think I would have attended the second showing of this Macbeth play. He really “got the ball rolling” for me and got me interested into it. His use of the back ground of Shakespeare that I had no idea about got me to go see the play.

Play was a good experience, I liked the setting very much and thought the actors were great.  The coldness of being outside made me want to go home, but the hot chocolate came through.  Michael did a good job with the fighting scene being in the beginning made a statement to me by doing so. Also Lady Macbeth did the second best job, her or Macduff, both really put it out on the line and gave good performances.
